The JNL/American Funds Growth Fund (the Fund or Feeder Fund) seeks growth of capital through exclusive investment in Class 1 shares of the American Funds Insurance Series - Growth Fund SM (the Master Fund).
Principal investment strategy
The Fund operates as a feeder fund and seeks to achieve its goal by investing all of its assets in Class 1 shares of the Master Fund. The Master Fund invests primarily in common stocks and seeks to invest in companies that the Master Funds investment adviser believes offer superior opportunities for growth of capital. The Master Fund may invest up to 25% of its assets in common stocks and other securities (including convertible and nonconvertible preferred stocks, bonds, and other debt securities) of issuers domiciled outside the U.S. Although the Master Fund focuses on investments in medium to larger capitalization companies, the Master Funds investments are not limited to a particular capitalization size.
