C000171400 Investment Objective and Strategy

Nuveen Large Cap Growth Fund describes its objective and strategy as follows, from its latest prospectus filed with the SEC by Nuveen Investment Trust.

Investment objective

The investment objective of the Fund is long-term capital appreciation.

Principal investment strategy

Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests at least 80% of the sum of its net assets and the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes in equity securities of large-capitalization companies. Large-capitalization companies are defined as companies that have market capitalizations within the market capitalization range of the companies in the Russell 1000 Index on the last business day of the month in which its most recent reconstitution was completed. Reconstitution of the index currently is completed in June of each year. On June 30, 2017, the range was $1.8 billion to $744.6 billion. Substantially all of the equity securities in which the Fund invests will be included in the Funds benchmark index, the Russell 1000 Growth Index, at the time of purchase. The Funds sub-adviser will select securities using an investment process that combines quantitative techniques, fundamental analysis and risk management.

Securities generally are added to the portfolio based both on security rankings provided by multi-factor quantitative models and on fundamental analysis of the securities. In addition, the sub-adviser will utilize risk management techniques to establish constraints on the amounts invested in individual securities and sectors. The Funds sub-adviser will generally sell a security if its model ranking declines significantly or research reveals a significant deterioration of the companys fundamentals. The Fund may enter into stock index futures contracts to manage cash flows into and out of the Fund.
